Among his nearly two-dozen cover stories were the 1997 Man of the Year profile of Andy Grove and an award-winning profile of Kofi Annan. Ramo, a Mandarin speaker, divides his time between Beijing and New York City. Jean-Philippe Brisson, Climate Action Reserve
Jean-Philippe Brisson has more than ten years of experience working with and investing in carbon markets. JP is a consultant to the Climate Action Reserve, an offset program based in California working to ensure integrity, transparency and financial value in the U.S. carbon market. At the Reserve, JP works on a number of strategic matters, including the adoption of new carbon offset protocols, the program’s expansion to Canada and the administration of the Reserve’s new forestry protocol.

Lee focuses on New York, and is currently focused on development activities in New York City. Before joining NRG in June 2006, Lee served as Vice President-New York Region for Mirant Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for Mirant’s strategy and initiatives in New York. Prior to that position, he served as Assistant to the CEO of Mirant. Lee has experience in international business development, where he oversaw development for a number of countries in Western and Eastern Europe.

Maria Echaveste was the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Clinton administration. In that capacity she dealt with a variety of domestic issues, coordinated the outreach efforts of the White House to the public and other branches of government and organized both foreign and domestic relief programs. She graduated with a JD from UC Berkeley in 1980 and received the prestigious Innovations in Government Award from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1996.

Martin Fischer is a Stanford University Professor and Director of the Center for Integrated Facilities of Engineering. Ashok Gupta, Senior Energy Economist, Natural Resources Defense Council
Ashok Gupta is a Senior Energy Economist at the Natural Resources Defense Council where he works with his colleagues on global warming policies, electric utility regulation, energy efficiency, renewables, sustainable building design and reducing petroleum dependence. Gupta has received the US Green Building Council’s 2007 Leadership Award for Advocacy, the Environmental Steward Award from Solar One in 2006, the Environmental Professional of the Year Award from the Association of Energy Engineers in 2003, and the Environmental Advocates’ 2001 Advocate Award for leadership in support of clean air and energy.
Dr. Robert H. Harris, Principal, Environ Holdings, Inc.
Robert Harris, a Founding Principal of Environ, has more than 25 years of experience in the area of environmental health and toxic chemicals, with particular emphasis on water and air pollution, and hazardous waste issues. Mr. Harris is recognized nationally as an expert consultant on the treatment and disposal of municipal solid waste and hazardous waste, and on air, soil, and groundwater contamination. He served as Co-director of the hazardous waste research program at Princeton University and is Associate Director of the Toxic Chemicals Program for the Environmental Defense Fund.
Ian Harvey, Chairman, UK Intellectual Property Institute
Ian Harvey is Chairman of The Intellectual Property Institute Board and was previously CEO for 19 years of the global technology transfer company BTG plc. After engineering at Cambridge University and working as an engineer he received his MBA from Harvard Business School. He then worked for the World Bank in Africa and Asia in a variety of roles. He was Chairman of the UK Government’s Intellectual Property Advisory Committee and has written many articles, book chapters and lectures widely on global intellectual property and technology issues. He is currently involved with IP in China and IP issues related to climate change.

Ian Mallory is President of Pickworth Investments LP, a Calgary-based venture capital and development firm specializing in energy and natural resources, with interests in marine transportation of natural gas, independent power generation, oil and gas exploration and production, clean energy technologies, and agri-business. A lawyer by profession, Ian has been an executive at three major Canadian companies in the power and natural gas sectors (TransAlta, Westcoast Energy, and ENMAX) developing, building, financing, and operating projects in numerous countries -- including the only private-sector offshore platform in Mexico, a large hydroelectric project in Argentina, and the largest wind farm in Canada.
Dr. Michael D. Meyer, the Frederick R. Dickerson Chair of Transportation Systems. Director, Georgia Transportation Institute, Georgia Institute of Technology
Dr. Meyer has worked closely with federal, state, regional, and local transportation agencies in defining mobility and safety strategies targeted at improved transportation system performance. He has consulted with numerous agencies from local to international in developing transportation plans and strategies that have been successfully implemented. He is co-principal investigator on a FHWA project looking at incorporating sustainability more fully into the transportation systems planning process. Additional research has included: climate change and transportation, transit organizational analysis, air quality modeling, transit oriented development, environmental analysis, environmental justice and congestion management.
Kimon G. Onuma, President & Founder, ONUMA, Inc.
Kimon Onuma is the principal of Onuma and Associates and the president of Webscape. He has each foot firmly planted in both worlds of architecture and technology and has been a firm proponent of Building Information Modeling for over 10 years. His recent projects include work with the United States Coast Guard in various projects, pilot projects and the SFCAM Road Map, which is mapping the future of integrated decision making in the Coast Guard and Building Information Modeling. He has created the Inteltect Planning System tool that automates part of the inefficient processes of early planning and design.
Glenn J. Payne, Director, First Reserve
Glenn J. Payne, joined First Reserve in 2004. His responsibilities include investment origination, structuring, execution, monitoring and exit strategy, with particular emphasis on the alternative and renewable sectors - - renewable power, biofuels, carbon offsets and waste to energy. Prior to joining First Reserve, Mr. Payne served as the Director of Strategy for Suez Energy, a major global electricity and gas provider. Previously, he worked at McKinsey & Co. as an Engagement Manager serving electric power and natural gas clients

Dr. Spiro Pollalis is widely published, and considered an expert in real estate and construction. He teaches graduate level courses in architecture, design and the use of IT in construction at Princeton University. He is also a noted futurist with a focus on the relationship between technology and construction.
Mahadev Raman, Professor, Princeton University
Mahadev Raman leads the Building sector for the Americas division of Arup, providing expertise in the engineering and design of high-performance buildings. He has pioneered the use of sophisticated analytical techniques to validate the design and optimize the performance of low-energy buildings. He is a director of the Architectural League of New York and is also a member of the Advisory Council for the AIA Center for Architecture. Professor Mahadev is a faculty member at both Princeton and Columbia Universities where he lectures regularly on sustainable design and environmental control.

Sophie Smyth is an Associate Professor at the Beasley School of Law at Temple University, where she teaches International Development Law and Policy and International Financial Transactions. Before joining Temple, Proessor Smyth was an international finance lawyer in the legal department of the World Bank, holding such titles as Senior Counsel, Co-financing and Project Finance, Director of Global Programs and Partnerships and Team Specialist in Derivatives, Emerging Markets and Global Offerings.

John Tocci is the Chief Executive Officer of the Tocci Building Companies and Chairman of the Associated General Contractors BIM Forum. Mr. Tocci started the building information modeling forum three years ago with the intent of increasing collaboration among all parties to a building project and breaking down traditional silos between designers and constructors. Mr. Tocci is currently campaigning for BIM-enabled integrated project delivery and was named one of Engineering News-Record’s Top 25 Newsmakers of 2008.
